Bagging
Day: Friday, April 23, 2021
Delivery Day: Saturday, April 24, 2021
Two teams of
delivery drivers headed out to visit 7 different
locations in Yuma County AZ.
While me, my husband, and oldest son headed to
San Luis, Somerton, and Cocopah Tribal PDs,
Margarita led a team with herself
and youngest son Max, Cindy, and Penny, and they
all headed to Wellton and AZ Western
College. We all then met up at the
Yuma Police Department and ended our deliveries
by visiting the Yuma County Sheriff's
Office. At the Yuma PD, we were met by
Katie, Marilyn, Melissa and her granddaughter
Sterling, and Victoria and her mom too.
Since we were running a bit late leaving
Cocopah, one of the officer's offered to escort
us directly to YPD. A police escort to deliver
the bags? How totally COOL is THAT!
At the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, Cpt. Amon
presented our group with an absolutely gorgeous
wooden plaque,
a Certificate of Appreciation to Thank You AZ
Blue. Being thanked for something that this
group absolutely
loves to do stunned us all, and yes, even made
me speechless. We purchase supplies, we
count endless items,
we get together and fill out bags - just to
bring smiles to Law Enforcement Officers.
Unlike others out there, we do not do this for
kudos, glory or our 15 minutes.
Our group members do this for the right reasons
- our hearts and compassion and our generosity
of spirit.
We do this because we love it and never expect
anything except to bring happiness.
Enjoy the photos - there are a TON of them for
this go-round!
